Norway’s expertise network in the oil and gas sector builds on 40 years of experience in developing one of the world’s most demanding continental shelves.
From the beginnings of this industry, the Norwegian authorities laid the basis for a systematic development of the country’s offshore petroleum resources.
The oil and gas industry has put the nation right in the forefront of technology development and on environmental and safety issues. That makes the organisation of Norwegian oil operations a model for many other nations.
Petrad’s network in Norway embraces research institutes, universities, oil and gas companies and government agencies. More than 400 experts have contributed to its various activities as lecturers and advisers.
The international Petrad network is growing year by year, particularly through the tailored seminars organised by the foundation in a number of countries. About 100 international experts have contributed to these programmes as lecturers and advisers.
All these experts have considerable academic and practical experience from the petroleum sector, including senior positions in government agencies and the international oil industry.
